Bontle Juku is a South African visual artist and photographer who is based in Johannesburg. Her work is influenced by her exploration of the past and present of African existence. Narratives and sociopolitical discourse surrounding the black body are central to her artistic practice.
Through her use of isolated composition, spirituality and emotive imagery she aims to create a diverse representation of blackness.
Images are created through a conceptual art process which forms an integral part of the perception of Bontle's work as a homage to the African existence.
